Jato came by today, brought a Collings I35 and his R7, as well as a Mesa open back 1x12 with an EV12L. Simply the finest tone I have heard out of any amp/guitar combo...finally something that not only rivals but easily bests the purple dumble overdrive reverb combo....the EV12L (which was also in the dumble) was the last ingredient for my own personal tonal perfection.

    Thanks Steve!

    LV,

Your not making my wait for my Glasswerks any easier. Was that HRM mode or Non-HRM mode, with or without PAB on? That R9 clip was very nice!

Well thanks, Lou...for having me over.
I know it's close to time for your family addition to arrive.
I just hope we sent him/her some positive vibes this afternoon! :D
That Glaswerks has my head spinning. A monster amp in every facet.
The cleans were just as beautiful as the overdrives.
You have spent alot of time dialling this baby in, and it shows on these clips.
I didnt have anything prepared, so you guys got me by the seat of my pants...warts and all. :D
A backing track would have been a cool thing...maybe next time.
The Lester used was actually my '04 R7, with the Wolfetone Marshallhead pups. The Collings I-35 Standard was stock with the Lollar Imperials...MAN that thing sounded huge through the Glaswerks/112 Mesa open cab with the EVM12L. You had to have been there to catch the whole vibe. Lou and I agreed on the spot that those tones were the best of the afternoon.
(Thanks for THAT I-35 deal, Tim B.!)

Anyway, I'd love to get together with you again, Lou, when the spring hits, and do some backing track clips.

Had a wonderfully toneful saturday afternoon!

The I 35 is a great guitar, I'm truly I'm stunned by it everytime I pick it up.

The Glasswerks sounds great! I can't wait to play my Carol-Ann with the I-35. I don't have have the EV though!

    Lou,

    Thanks for posting the clips!

I see you have a couple of extra toggles next to the footswitch jack. OD and something else. What's their function?

That is one heck of a cheat sheet you have there Lou.

Jato, great playing, My son, Travis, is very jealous of the I-35, we spent a good 20 minutes in the Collings booth at NAMM looking at that guitar. He thought it was much better built that his 335.

wow.....really great tones, and tone manipulations there, guys!

The Collings sounds awesome, no doubt.............but I might even like the R7 more.

I wouldn't say no if you forced me to take ANY of that rig.......

    Thanks Gary.
I usually work stuff out ahead of time, so I was just jamming a bit on the old blues notes. The tone is the thing. The I-35 was a perfect match with the Glaswerks/EVM12L rig. You have built a masterpiece, if I may say so. :dude
Just to be clear, I'm on the list...when my number's up, I want a 6L6 100 watter, like Lou's! And that Blue/Sky switch would be schweet!

    :)

The pickups on the Goldtop Paul were Wolfetone Marshallheads. Wolfe's take on a higher output PAF.

m3g, those are manual switches for channel switching and preamp boost in case I don't have the footswitch connected.
