So as some already know, I love my rectoverb 50 combo. But Im going to convert the combo into just a head unit to use with my 4;12 cab.

Im stuck between a dark red stain, or just covering it with tolex.

Has anyone done this before? If so, what kind of wood would you recommend?

anything I should be aware of before I start the disassembling process?

I figured I would take pictures and show progress

I would cut the original combo down instead of building an entire new enclosure.

I would also use Tolex because stains don't look so great on plywood.

Spend time planning, make sure you have allowed proper room for airflow and the reverb tank.

Thanks for the reply. I just re posted this in the amp tech info area, I figured it was more fitting there.
I didn't want to cut down the combo just in case I wanted to convert it back later down the road.
