My wife needs a new chair for her home office. Anyone have input for something super comfortable? Thanks.

    does she also play guitar?

i ask only because my recent acquisition is a good looking, comfortable office chair and the armrests are far enough back to play guitar while sitting in it. i'll see if i can get the dope on it...

I prefer their equa chairs. You can get them used very inexpensively because the aeron is so popular. The mesh of the aeron bugs me.

You can easily remove an arm to play guitar.

I bought a used HM Aeron for ~$400 ( has a few dings and a broken knob for something I don't need to adjust )
and eBayed the arms ( don't need 'em ) for almost $200.

Great deal, my back loves it...

Yes, Aeron, my official office chair…everyone in the office gets one…sitting comfort is key, and also important to get up and walk around now and then. The best money you'll ever spend for a chair.

Having said that, if you can, find a local Herman Miller dealer (most quality office furniture places carry them) and have a test sit. Steelcase and Herman Miller do make some other less expensive options, but I'm sticking with an Aeron.

I hated the Aeron, and yes, I tried all sizes and learned how to adjust it.

The next one I'll try is the Humanscale.

Another vote for Herman Miller chairs. They are the most comfortable I have owned. I have an Aeron at work and at home and even bought one for my wife. They also last much longer than the cheap chairs.

Not at all. I can sit there for hours and feel quite comfortable. I'm a bit over 200 pounds, too.

I normally like the Herman-Miller chairs, but the cost is much too great. This was a good compromise for me and I managed to get it at half the price during a sale, which made it all the more worth it.

There are tons of reviews on this model (over 300), so feel free to read to get any additional details you'd like to get.
