compressors they sell in guitar center

    i need one by saturday for this job i got...i'll be going to a guitar center this week and i see they have either MXR dyna comp or a EH soul preacher and a Boss....whats the best one out of the $100 is range??

    check out the Maxon CP101 if they've got one.

    I have the EH Soul Preacher. I find it to be an excellent compressor. It is in no danger of leaving my board. For the money, I think they can't be beat!

    The Aphex Punch Factory is excellent, and is a steal at $100 new.

    BBE Main Squeeze. The BBE Opto Stomp is also very good, but more hi-fi than what most guitarists want. The Opto Stomp is a good choice for bass or acoustic, though.

    the dynacomp is classic. the bypass kinda sucks, but i can't see myself using another comp.

    + many for the maxon CP-101, but (1) i'm not sure if they sell them at GC and (2) i think they sell for $160...

    that said, a boss or dynacomp should get the job done.
