i am shopping for something 20-30 watts and would like good amounts of clean head room, and nice on board reverb. something light and easy to grab and go.

so far i have it down to :

    swart ast
    bruno UG30 1x12
    dr.z maz jr 1x12
    carr rambler 1x12
    victoria regal 1x12, 1x15?
or just a good ol' fender deluxe or blues jr.

somebody help. ultimately i think i will end having to go to someplace like eddies to find the right amp, which means a plane trip from lubbock.
    :munch

How about a Two Rock Jet or Allen Sweet Spot ? ...you can put 6L6s in either to increase headroom. Both have beautiful reverbs. The Allen has an awesome tremolo and the Jet can get pretty gritty with the lead channel. Both are great grab and go amps ! Another intriguing prospect would be a Divided by 12 EDT 13/29...but I haven't tried on of those yet.

    Cheers

Two more to consider are the Fargen Blackbird 30Watt model, or Gries 35. I have the 30 Watt Blackbird in a head and love it, a lot of headroom for 30 watts. I have never played the Gries 35 but I have heard good things about it. The Blackbird Combo is only like 35 lbs and has a great onboard reverb.

I worked in the biggest vintage guitar shop in NYC a few years back, and we carried all the vintage stuff as well as a few boutique builders like Top Hat and Bruno. The UG30 was, without question, the most incredible amp I have ever tried. It is so responsive, 3 dimensional, and harmonically complex, that any guitar I plugged into it--even the cheap crappy ones--sounded phenomenal.
