I'm considering a Conklin guitar in a trade and am looking for input from anyone that has had any experience with them. They seem to be better known for their basses and I can't find much info on the web other than their website.

Own 3. An 8 string guitar, a 6 string jazzer, and a 7 string bass. Good and different.

If you don't mind, what exactly are you looking at?

Thanks for the responses. It's similar to this one on the Conklin website.

Great instruments all around. Components, build quality, all consistently top-notch throughout his basses and guitars alike. Resale can be quite rough though for some odd reason.

So true! The resale value of these is much beow the "music making value" they provide. This is probably due to the brand recognition and very radical avant-garde design, that is not endorsed by any mainstream artist.

Yes! It went to me. My tech upgraded the tailpiece, made a new bone nut, rounded the frets on the side and filed the saddles to better match the 18' radius that it has. The playability improved significantly after these modes. If you liked it before, now it will blow your mind:)!
