I'm diabetic, so I drink Diet Coke. I reached the point last year where I was drinking>15 cans a day. I developed an unrelated stomach problem, and had to stop drinking like that. I allow myself one can as soon as I wake up, it's like my coffee. I have no doubt cola is addictive.

I used to drink two to three cans of Diet Coke a day! One or two a week is fine. Enjoy it.

I quit soda around mid-January this year. That combined with slightly more mindful eating helped me lose 40lb in about 5 months.

American Heart Association says we shouldn't have any more that 10 added grams of sugar per day.

2 cans of soda per week is almost 80 grams of sugar. More for some sodas..... 80 grams per week x 52 weeks is 4160 grams/9.1lbs of sugar per year.

I haven't had 1 sip of any kind of soda since 1978. As in NONE. I also do not eat artificial flavors, or coloring of any kind. No preservatives.

Artificial flavor has also been linked to Metabolic Syndrome. 2 Non sugar drinks ( Artificially Flavored ) per day makes you 50% more likely to have a cardiovascular event.

You should stop drinking it since they removed the cocaine over a century ago and replaced it with crap that actually kills you!

I know a few people that drink at least a 12 pack of coke per day. They are still alive and kicking. I say drink as much as you want.

I'd love to see what a shows up in their physical. Some people get away with smoking two packs a day and make it to their 80s. Doesn't mean it's harmless.

There's so much out there about too much sugar being bad for you, I don't see any reason to drink it.

A can or two of Coke per week probably isn't hurting you much. However, when you buy Coke, you support the soft drink industry, which harms and kills lots of people by pushing addictive poison while fighting public health initiatives that threaten sales.

    I can't imagine 1 or 2 a week is that big of a deal.

I cut out sugared drinks a few years ago after years of drinking several a day. I can't stand the aftertaste from artificial sweeteners so diet drinks were not an option. After not drinking any for awhile I now find soda to be so overly sweet that I really don't like it. When I do want a Coke now I usually just add a little bit to cold seltzer water.

Pemberton supposedly invented the drink to cure his opium addiction. Of course, his original recipe was much different then with the well-known inclusion of cocaine.

A can or two a week will have no discernible effect on your system - unless you are diabetic. What's a bit more dangerous though is drinking from an Aluminum can.
There are a few case studies that are linking Aluminum to the plaque in the brain that causes Alzheimers disease.

Sofa is the #1 :nono if you care about your health. HFCS it some nasty stuff. Sugar isn't much better.

Here is a video that pretty much covers it in detail > Skip to 2:35 to get to the sugar part, but really the whole thing is eye opening and got me to make some changes.
