What’s your a1c situation like?
All this talk about not drinking coke is making me anxious. I’m going to grab a Diet Coke to calm down...
Even more harmless if your water it down with rum
No matter who consumes it, lots of HFCS, sugar and/or a high carb diet will lead to a plethora of health issues over time.
I find it difficult to imagine that a drink as sweet as that could be good with any food. Doesn't it obliterate the taste of the food with all the sugar, or sugar substitutes?
I don't drink it all the time but when I do I like the almost frozen bottles or poured it in a frosted mug
For me the food makes the drink taste better. Not the other way around.
Type 2 Diabetes
I always liked Coke or other sweet sodas with slightly salty/savory/spicy foods. It's the only time I ever want soda now. Carbonation may be a factor too. I always hated soda with other sweet things.
The picture link in your post isn't working.
This was a sarcastic post, but you knew that. Of course there are going to be anomalies who live unhealthy lifestyles but live long healthy lives. My belief is that indulging in occasional indulgence in some unhealthy things iisn't going to be harmful to your health. A happy life is as important as a long life. A few pleasures may even aid in longevity.
Drinking water is better.
Sure, then all of a sudden it's 3-5 cans a week, then one or two a day then before you know it it's a six pack everyday and your teeth are starting to rot and your brain can't think straight and you've gained 55 pounds and have to buy all new clothing and...............................
I've been known to sacrifice my liver for a frosty root beer every 3rd blue moon.
Two events, related to Coca Cola, were enough to convince me to not drink that stuff:
I was a youngster, and my "fix it all" grandfather was helping my dad remove an old radiator from the kitchen. They couldn't get one of the fittings loose, and after struggling with it for a long time, my grandfather cracked open a can of Coke and poured it over the fitting. Five minutes later, the fitting screwed off by hand.
Later in life, I worked in an auto body shop. The owner had a strict "No Coke" policy in the shop area. One day, a newb popped open a can of Coke in the shop, and the owner read him the riot act about it. When I asked why Cokes were outlawed in the shop, the owner grabbed the newly opened can of Coke, poured some of it over a scrapped fender, and we watched the paint get eaten away.
It's nasty stuff....
Works well to remove the corrosion on car battery terminals too.
That's what I do but it seltzer instead of plain water. The Coke and seltzer have to be cold before pouring over ice otherwise it goes flat almost instantly.
I've used it to remove corrosion on battery terminals many times. If Snopes says it's false, they're wrong.
