Was the music supposed to be a rendition of Pink Floyd's "Empty Spaces?"
EDIT: Listened to it again (I was more focused on watching the video the first time), sounded more "inspired" by the song than anything.
and you can get it in nickle black!
Hmmmm, a floyd rose for normal people. Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit! Who'd a thunk it?
A nice looking bridge, and looks well engineered and built. Very cool. But, according to the website its "dive only". Damn.
That's a phrase that I'm filing away for later
So will it require a locking nut? I think that's my biggest complaint about Floyds.
cool, whats the price?
the design looks like it could make my very rare tuning issues disappear completely
just under FOUR HUNDRED dollars!
I'm glad I'm off my double-locking vibrato phase, LOL!
Yeah, hell no at $400. Pass.
Floyds do not require a locking nut and this requires a non-locking nut.
I do not see any new playing features, except further travel, and possibly better contact at the body/bridge interface, vs a classic Strat trem. Sound is probably fine, but so is the old Strat system. Maybe better tuning due to saddle design.
Stable tuning, up/down, great feel, no mis-tuning on bends are unsolved problems.
I've never seen a Floyd without one.
I suppose if you have locking tuners you can get away with slacking the strings right of the board on a OFR. I always thought that using one without the clamp on old tuners would be risky, I'm sure I could get the high E to come right off the peg if I tried.
This one has a few things going on, some common to other modern designs like better pivot mechanics. The block holes are drilled differently too and it's got cradled saddles like a Mann and some sort of string groove. Should be stable as hell for a 6 screw and they claim it solves bend tuning issues too, which I don't like actually, too long with a strat I guess.
But ya, 400 bucks.
You can put a FR bridge on any Strat, for instance, no lock nut needed.
No real advantage to it vs any 2 point trem, either.
It's not a Floyd Rose design, just using their name.
Still have the flaw of any strat-style bridge.
Vintage 2 7/32"/56mm string spacing only.
Did I say ridiculous price?
Uh... NAMM 2016?
I lived with out one this long
