Cool Jazz Funk Stuff Music?

    I can't really describe what I'm talking about.. well maybe.. its just some bass and cool keys funky drums playing some grooves... instrumental stuff.. no ripping guitar solos .. just all cool laid back stuff.... Isn't there a popular band that does this stuff.. you would hear it a lot .. for intro to Radio shows or I swear I've heard this type on a tv show or something... can anyone help me out on who does this time.. hopefully I am describing it correctly.. thanks

    Check out his releases: Alligator Boogaloo, Midnight Creeper.....etc. His late 60's stuff is great jazzy funk.

    Also The Rippingtons have been used for background music quite a bit, especially their early CD's like Curves Ahead and Welcome to the St. James Club
