    Here are the differences

    - control layout is different (Gold = Vol, Hi Cut, Gain; Purple= Vol, Gain, Bass adjust)
    - In terms of sound the Purple Plexi is brighter than the Gold because you can't change the high frequency response it also has more gain think of the Gold as being in the (late 60's to mid 70's) classic rock whereas the purple is more in the late 70's roclk and Van Halen camp or bright gainy plexi sound.
    - The Purple plexi has more Volume boost on the Vol pot than the Gold
    - Lastly the Purple plexi is (wait for it) ...purple.LOL

I like the purple plexi but the Gold is just more my thing I can nail hendrix, ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, Free, Cream and even Aerosmith with that pedal.

I've never been following the Cot lineage...what do I have?

Mine is cream colored, has one knob "bias" and a footswitch.
I am at work right now, so from memory, the LED is either red or blue, I think it is red.

What is mine and how does it differ in sound and all?

Just like my Gold, but no volume or tone control. The Gold is basically a Red with extra controls... right guys?
