Just for fun.....If you could get your band to play one album front to back, what would it be, and why?

Edit.... I didn't put my album!

Our band always jokes about doing Operation Mindcrime by Queensryche I. The "Livecrime" format, but there's no way we could do that. For me, personally I'd have a hard time choosing between Def Lep's Hysteria, or 3EB first album (currently having a love fest on that one in another recent thread). That would actually prob go over pretty well.

King's X, Gretchen Goes to Nebraska - female fronted, party rock style :)
Why? Because it is a "watershed" album for me and I think my female lead singer could pull it off - much cleaner vocals than dUg of course, but with work we could nail the harmonies and make it our own... someday...

I was in a southern rock cover band, and from time to time we would perform the Allmans "At the Fillmore East" for our first set, and Skynyrd's "One More From the Road" as our second set. Long ass night, and at times it didn't go over too well, but it was fun to replicate those two legendary records (complete with accurate commentary and introductions).

Sade: Love Deluxe. Our vocalist has the gifts to do Sade's style justice. Same goes for our band. The drummer, bassist, keyboard player and myself can really play her style - smooth but brutally deep grooves for the vocals to float over, under and in between.

I would want to cover a Dream Theater album, because then it would mean we were all a lot better than we currently are.

"London Calling." So many different musical styles together one one (double) album.

Because it is possibly the greatest album ever recorded in the history of music.

Being a trio, we'd have to add a few musos to make these really work, but it would be cool to do The Black Crowes' Southern Harmony and Musical Companion. I'd also love to do Sailin' Shoes, Dixie Chicken, and The Last Record Album from Little Feat or just the entire live Waiting for Columbus.

Yes - Close To The Edge.

I know the entire album note-for-note on guitar(s), but I don't think my band does. We have covered "And You And I" in the past, though.

    It required:
    Console steel guitar
    12-string acoustic/electric
    Semi-hollowbody electric

and jumping between those three instruments with split-second timing.

Did I mention harmony vocals while playing?

Side 1 of thick as a brick. I'd never spend that much time working on something tho, But as long as we're fantasizing here.
