Crate vc 20

i got a Vintage Club 20 today. I got it fairly cheap and could return it. It sounds great till you break the bedroom volume level. When I turn the volume know between 9 and 3 o'clock it sounds like a old time 2 way radio trying to find a channel. Kinda like Gilligan's Island.

Probably needs a pot cleaned. My local shop does it for free for me. I've also had it happen with a bad preamp tube.
