I am so incredibly undecided between these two. I am wanting to use them for a low-gain drive to stack with a Timmy. Any insight would be helpful! I play an AC30 and have been told the hotcake is the "go to" pedal for Vox, but the Morning Glory demos has been extremely interested.

Anyone ever compared the two or have any experience with using them as low-gain ods?

I find the MG much too harsh through my AC15. The Hotcake is very nice and pla. ys nice with my other drives.

Edit: The cmatmods Butah is also a nice bluesbreaker that is a bit more transparent than the MG.

I also looking for a second Od for my Tim and AC15. Was thinking about the hot cake, but the morning glory does sound good. Can anyone compare the two drives that would work best for a high drive?

The voting will be skewed since there is a JHS pedal included.

Beyond that, there are better examples of Bluesbreaker style pedals on the market, IMO, notably the VFE Blues King. That said, the Hotcake and Morning Glory aren't very comparable.

Right, the MG and HC are VERY different pedals.
With your AC-30 and Timmy setup, I'd definitely vote Hot Cake.
The Morning Glory will be more redundant, and the Hot Cake will stack better, IME.

A shot of my board when I was stacking Hot Cake >> Timmy >> AC15:

I just got a Hot Cake in a trade and haven't had much time with it. So far I'm surprised how flat it is. Meaning there's not much of a mid hump. This isn't bad and I can see why some AC30 players like it.

Someone with more experience with the HC can chime in and correct me.

I just like my drive pedals with a good amount of mids. That's why I have a Timmy, Screw Driver, and Voyager on my board. Not sure I'll gel with the Ho Cake. I'll give it more time.
