Losing the love for the CS Fat 50's in my Ash/Maple strat.

Suggestions? I'm playing the strat in a hippie 60s band. Looking for a bit less 'glass' and probably more midrange focus, if that can be achieved with pickups in an ash/maple CS strat.

    Which set should I consider?

    Thank you.

Texas Specials maybe? With your strat I believe that would be the same combination as the Knopfler strat.

I have a set of CS '50's - not fat '50s - these are all the same wind, same polarity, etc for sale they all run about 6.2k.. I also have a CS '69 AY sig set for sale. Now - if you don't want to go Fender I highly recommend Sheptone AB customs - I love my set - I ordered them the same wind in case I add a Suhr BPSSC later. Check 'em out - http://sheptone.com

Would those be the Woodstock 69s? They sounded kind of 'interesting' to me. A real part of the issue is the ash/maple combo that provides the glassy 'zing' that really doesn't translate well during shows.

    Search for some WCR SR's.
(Jim Wagner is not currently making them so you'll have to find a used set)
Install them with an RS kit in your Ash/Maple Strat.

    You can thank me later.....

They don't have enough Glass for me but they are very articulate!!! I tried both "Blondes" and "Blackface" with the blondes being more chimey but still not how I like it.
