which current artists are utilizing effects in the most creative/sonically pleasing ways in your opinion? as i delve deeper into the world of effects, I've become more interested in hearing new music that incorporates sounds we gear heads obsess over daily. here's some of the more recent ones I've been into:

    War On Drugs
    Cymbals Eat Guitars
    Tame Impala
    Mylets
    Tera Melos

obviously these all fall under the indie/experimental genre (which is my preferred genre). however, I'd love to hear some of the blues cats, alt-country bros, and whomever else chime in!

loving Tame Impala lately too.. great songs and sound overall.

I have been loving the bands lately that have been using octavers and just cool bass signal/guitar/fuzz or distortion on and off dynamic bands. Keeps it interesting...

Off the top of my head. I've been listening to Elder almost non stop because of the layers upon layers they utilize

thanks. unfamiliar with Elder, will check it out.

Bellamy is always unconventional and exciting with his use of effects!

J Vern is such an inspirational artist. his songs just drip ambiance and mood, especially on the self titled LP.

Whenever I forget why I want a killer pedalboard, I listen to "The Rheostatics"

    Try :
    - Stolen Car
    - Dope Fiends & Boozehounds
    - Satan is the Whistler

Martin Tielli is one of my all time favs.

I saw the AXs TV Concert with Sonic Youth. But you already know.
Then there is Trey Anastasio that does a great job with tone and with looping while Jamming.
The fuzzy tones achieved by the guys playing in Grace Potter and the Nocturnals is pretty inspiring.

I'm not sure I understand the question.

I love The War On Drugs 'Slave Ambient' album. Such great use of heavy effects.

Agreed. Really dig both the Work and Play albums from last year. Some cool stuff going on there.
