Charley's is great. In the past, it hasn't been the best, but the most recent owner Clay is a really great guy and knows how to make the shop really inviting. It's a no-pressure situation, and all of the guys are really friendly. The other good thing is that most (if not all) of the guys working at the shop are players, and gig regularly, so they're attuned to what's going on. I know at my GC, there are maybe 2 or 3 guys who know what's up, and the rest don't really have a clue. Not the case at Charley's. They carry Dr. Z, Fender CS stuff, Tom Anderson, Roccaforte, Martin, Collings, and a lot of consignment pieces as well to look over. It's not a big shop, but it's quality stuff.

Thanks so much you guy's, exactly what I needed. Larry Morgan Music sounds like the place I need to go. I've never played through a BadCat, and would like to. Charlie's sounds cool too.
ah yes, Tommy of Fulltone TR-100 fame. I had one, and stupidly sold it in one of my weaker moments. But, I sold it to a friend, so I know where it is!
Back on topic...Yes! The Arlington Guitar Show is this weekend. Good call on that one. Definitely the place to go for cool guitar-ness in Dallas this weekend.
Larry swore to the Speir guy that he'd take that building over again after a falling out between them. So there he is. Pretty cool stuff but the Speir pedal selection, thanks to Tommy, was the best around.
I'll be at the Arlington Show with a sack o' stuff to sell or trade. Good fun.
