This was on the local CL, with original case. $1200 GONE!

    Bummed, huh.

I routinely - 3-4x daily - check my local CL.

Crazy? Not if you've found some killer deals in the past. Can I tell you how I happen to own a set of 1962 PAFs for $50? Or a quad of pre-Rola (1970) Celestion G12Ms for -$700? Yes, that's a negative symbol in front of the $700... A drip edge Pro Reverb for $150, a set of 1959 Strat pickups for $100, the list goes on. None of this stuff was altered (rewound, reconed, broken, etc). And these deals were from people who claimed they KNEW what they had when I expressed my honest opinion... Except for the Strat pickups... Neither one of us knew what they were when I accepted them in trade, until I worked with him to discover where they came from.

I feel for you bro. I had a mid-60s ES-125 TDC that I traded for a new Kramer in 1982. Even trade at the time. The Kramer is worth $150 these days.

All I ever see on CL is horrible crap for extremely high prices.

Have to wade through a lotta khrap, but there are deals to be made. Just put a few bucks in my pocket today from a 'fix &flip'. Best CL advice i have is check often and be first to call...and show up.

Not so much in our area....I check it all the time, and it's always crap for top dollar.
If there ever is something nice (very rarely) well....once again, listed for WAY more than it's worth.

As an example, there was a maple fretboard LP from the 70's listed a few weeks ago for $25,000....about 10x what it was worth

I got my first bass off CL, from a UVA student. It was a pretty good deal, and if I knew any better, I'd still have that bass.

Our local never has any gems or deals. Even the Squiers are overpriced.

I would have happily paid more than $1200 if it was structurally sound and mostly original.

It seems when I'm looking on CL there's just a bunch of crap, then when I miss a few days.. boom!

Seattle Craigs List. They are out there.
