    i have one.
i prefer it to the stock ds1. it is clearer with more output.
my ds1 was a japan model, i sent it to analogman and i liked it very much when i got it back but no need for two pedals that sound so similiar.

So you did you prefer it to the analog.man ds-1? Also, could you describe the texture of the distortion (gritty/crunchy or fizzy/fuzzy), and how much low end it has? Much appreciated

I've been waiting for this new line to come out and completely forgot. Metal boxes, true bypass, and really affordable. Fun pedals to check out at great prices. I definitely see a tremolo coming home with me in the near future, (later this afternoon). Take care people.

got mine last nite. didn't play it a ton (yet), but it sounds really good for $40.
*kinda* like my FDII in comp-cut. I like that it has a 2 band eq instead of just a tone control. It bums me out that it was built in China (which I don't usually go for), but for some reason I didn't check on this before I bought- I don't know why elese I thought it would only be $40.
But it does come with a free battery.

Are you talking about the distortion or transparent OD?

Kind of hard to escape having anything made in China/Asia. Glad you like it, my local stores don't have them in yet so I have to wait to check them out. Cheesy I know, but I kinda like the pedal board suitcase they have for these. Looks retro cool, but I'll reserve final judgement till I see it in person.

i had sold my analogman ds1 before getting the cool cat so i was not able to put them up side by side, but the first time i plugged into the cool cat dist. i thought to myself that it was very similiar to the ds1. i consider the sound to be slightly gritty with good crunch. more fizzy than fuzzy. the low end is full, i have a hard time seeing myself turning the low eq anywhere past 1oclock without my rig farting out.

Sounds great, can it get into high-gain palm-muting territory?

Does it have about the same amount of gain as the DS-1?

Out of curiosity- what is this pedal based on? The Boss distortion?
