Congrats to all the Danocaster owners out there, as your guitars have just skyrocketed in value!

Just saw this as well. Too bad. One of the few companies I thought had tasteful relic work. Best of luck to them on their next adventure.

Nice to see one of the good guys make a choice for their life and for what they'd like to pursue.

I associate DANOCASTER with high quality, strong ethics and a commitment to customers.

Great run man....hope the next phase of your life is even better!

The end of an era; a guitar history footnote in the making. I wish them all happiness in finding the joy in life.

Dan is the absolute best and customer service was second to none. I’m wishing him the best and will always be stoked on my danocasters.

    Just saw that on Facebook.
That must have been an insanely tough decision.
I count myself lucky to own one.

Sad news for guitar players, but good news for Dan if he's able to move on to something else in his life to make him happy.

I have to say that dealing with Dan back a few years ago was one of the better transactions I have made. His approach and service was fantastic.

    And what fantastic guitars.

Heartbroken as I sold an almost perfect Dano and got on the list about 10 months ago. But I totally understand. Bummer as I’m sure second hand prices are about to get even crazier and out of reach.

I know it would have been incredibly hard to make this decision but kudos to Dan. He's got integrity and he's made a decision about the business when it's going strong and making incredible instruments.
Service was second to none, let alone how good his guitars are.

Been on the list for over a year. Wish he’d have at least finished folks guitars who’ve been waiting.
    Oh well....

Good for him for focusing on enjoying life. Sad for all of us who don't have one.

wow. definitely a loss for the boutique guitar community.

hopefully he finds some peace and quiet and perhaps it will re-ignite the passion in him and he can get back to making guitars on his own terms without the 'monkey on the shoulder' of a waitlist, dealer fulfillment, etc, etc.

I only had one order with Dan (that didn't end up being the right guitar for me - I got a Tele Deluxe but realized my heart was for a Jazzmaster w/ WRHBs) but it was right there with my Science Amplification experience as far as my best music-related purchasing experiences.

I know the stress of being a small business owner but I can only imagine how it's magnified when you've got a list of dozens or hundreds of unique guitars stretching out in front of you.

There's only 1 S- style lefty that Dan made, guess it's worth? I understand the decision for leaving the industry, I just left mine after 22 years, time to do something else.

    Yup
And those of us who’ve waited patiently and passed on other deals, or could’ve had a guitar built elsewhere get to start our wait all over again.
It’s his business and he can do whatever he wants but I think he’d expect folks to be a bit bummed who’ve waited a long time on the list to simply “get the boot”.
    LoL
