Man, Grissom had some FAT tone going on. Davey & Mike sounded very good also... but Grissom just sounded huge, must be the Sea Foam green DGT.:D

Back in the day, Grissom played a PRS with Joe Ely that looked kinda "robin's egg" blue. Always loved the sound of him playing that guitar.

on the subject of about tone being in the fingers and not just in the guitar, listen to grissom play acoustic. there's a certain quality to his pick attack on the strings that's just like when he plays electric. it's like he's hitting the strings hard and soft at the same time -- there's a solidness to it -- and the notes ring out the same way.

i had a conversation with david about where tone comes from, and he had a very interesting take on it. he said that he used to think tone was all in the fingers, but in the past few years he has come to think that it is a mix of fingers, amp, and guitar.

Who is the TGP'er in the bowling shirt who takes the second solo?

Grissom's playing is great as usual but his tone sounds muted and muddy.
