I don't have much that I want to sell, but my arm could be twisted to buy stuff. Ughh lol
I do have some stuff to offload, I’m afraid. A Waza Tube Amp Expander beckons.
Y’all missed out on some great deals, I hate paying for shipping and fees.
1. Elitist casino, SOLD
2. 2018 R8, 8.3 SOLD
3. 2016 Mustang, shell pink SOLD
4. 1972 Fender vibrolux reverb
5. Early 2000s J-45
6. 2006 R7, 8.9lbs SOLD
7. Bras rosewood Tele build
8. Various MJT bodies
9. 60s style MJT Tele
10. Pedals & pickups ALMOST ALL GONE
Anyone looking for a J-45, vibrolux or rosewood Tele?
Was there a gear swap I missed?
Can someone recommend a local person who is skilled at sparkle finishes (factory quality)?
I don’t know specifically about sparkle, but I’d look into Chris Bavaria. He did the PRS finish work for years. I’ve had him refinish 2 necks and a body and the work was fantastic. I think he’d say no if it wasn’t his thing instead of not getting it correct.
Chris has done finishes for me, too. He's great with guitars and also with refinishing of antique furniture, if anyone needs that work.
Somebody have an email and number for him? Not having any luck on FB
I'm sorry, I don't. Phil Jacoby does, though, you could ask him. www.philtone.com
poliyatsi copied verbatim the text above from the first post of this thread, which I wrote in May, 2009. The post by poliyatsi originally had what appeared to be links to malware, which I reported to the moderators. I am in the process of moving out of the DC/MD/VA area and I do not have any plans to host another gear swap or tone fest.
New question. I've been playing more slide lately. I'm enjoying it but the truth is my technique for both of my hands isn't good enough. Can anyone recommend someone local who's an excellent slide player who I could contact for a lesson or two? I don't want anything more than this: just a lesson or two focused on proper left hand muting and right hand picking (fingers and pick). Thanks.
Linwood Taylor or Memphis Gold
I'll hire the first and smoke the second!
Anyone else got someone less "illustrious" in mind (in case it's hard nailing down one of those two guys)?
Linwood will be playing at JV's on Sunday, March 3rd if you want to discuss a couple of lessons with him. Chet Chandler (Memphis Gold) can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
That might work as his show is at 9PM that night (I myself will be jamming on Dead in the afternoon that day).
I see Linwood's playing for free tonight in Georgetown:
Feb 28 - Linwood Taylor - Last Thursdays in Georgetown at Ri Ra
I'd be down with a gear swap. Right now, I've got my Bad Cat 15 watt EL84 amp in the Emporium. I would be interested to see what gear you guys might have.
I already have two Bad Cats!
