I once went to an estate sale to look at an upright piano for sale, and the wood behind the keys was grooved and slashed like that. Turned out that the lady who'd owned it for like 50 years liked long fingernails, and she apparently worked deep into the keys and scratched the wood behind them, and little by little over the years really damaged the piano. I wouldn't be surprised if this guitar was damaged by somebody with long fingernails.

The edges of the wear are smooth enough that the wear looks real. Rode hard, put away wet, and never, ever touched the Bigsby.

I'm into it. I generally don't like blingy, overly flashy guitars (like with flamed maple and gold, for instance), but the wear and tear does a good job of bringing it down a peg. It brings it down to my trashy level, and now I can relate to it. I'd probably buy this if I played hollow bodies.

Looks like honest wear, which I think is kinda cool. But the contrast between the beat up body and perfectly clean headstock and neck is weird.

Eh, who cares? Either you like it or you don't.

There are plenty country gentlemen around in Gretsch orange.

I'm thinking a pristine one is right around the corner calling your name.

It's the somewhat lesser known Gibson Country Gent, from Chet's time as a Gibson endorser

Thanks, but when I do finally pull the trigger, it'll be for the signature "chet orange" finish.

Looks like scrap to me. The price is OK if you wanted to paint it black.

Not everyone sits in on a couch in the living room noodling on a guitar. Sometimes they're out there being played hard, being sweat on, being a tool to make music and entertain.

Hah, you caught me. Thought I edited that post in time! Yeah, I know it's a Gibson, I just saw the orange and spaced out.
