Just based on that clip, wrong tone, wrong note choices for that song. Blackmore's style is so distinctive, unless you cop it really closely, it doesn't work for me.

Yeah, I agree. Ian Gillian is one of my favorite singers but his voice has been shot for years...even decades. I never liked Steve Morse in that band (I know he's been there longer than Ritchie ever was) and no Jon Lord...they should have hung it up awhile ago.

Yeah, I agree. Ian Gillian is one of my favorite singers but his voice has been shot for years...even decades. I never liked Steve Morse in that band (I know he's been there longer than Ritchie ever was) and no Jon Lord...they should have hung it up awhile ago.

To be honest, they have been surprisingly good and fresh in the studio over the last 3 albums…but live it’s getting more and more difficult, particularly the vocals for obvious reasons.

Glad he's putting his own stamp on the songs, much prefer that to note for note copyists.
