Deluxe Reverb Volume Pot Value?

    I banged the volume knob on the non-tremolo channel of my '79 SFDR, snapping the pot shaft off at the base. I'm inclined to try replace it myself. I'm sure I can find a schematic online, but I'll bet folks know off the top of their head - what's the value of that pot?

    Also, I'm not up on the procedure for discharging caps. Suppose I can change a potentiometer without touching the wrong thing and getting a jolt?

    Finally, any suggestions for getting the old pot shaft out of the knob?

    Just loosen the set screw and the shaft should fall right out.

    This one doesn't have a setscrew. It pushes on and is held by friction. :(

    The pot should be a 1 Meg Audio Taper. Those plastic ones break pretty easy.

    Try to find one that has the ridges like the original so your knob will fit back on.
