Just finished a new track using the HD500X. This time I decided to try my Strat (Texas Special pick ups).

The track has Strat and Les Paul parts.

For the first Strat solos I used the Hiwatt amp. I set it as clean as possible and then “drove” it a bit with the Tube Compressor for the next solo.

The Les Paul solo which follows was the JCM800. Back to the Hiwatt and then back to the JCM800.

The middle Strat solo was also back to the Hiwatt and the final solo was the Strat on the JCM800 model.

This song has the “busiest and fullest” mix so far that I’ve done with the HD500 and I think that the tones work well within the mix. I think it's pretty amazing that this was recorded straight into the desk. IMHO it doesn't sound like it. Digital modelling has come a long way.

Hope you enjoy. I’m having a lot of fun with this unit.
    Cheers,

    Peter.

That sounds great. How did you do the octaves around 2:40?

Wish I could do what you do with vibrato. Really nice.

Thanks for the comment. Glad you enjoyed it.

I played the octaves on a Les Paul. 2nd and 4th strings.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

Those are some pretty nice tones you've got going on there. The HD definitely gets more flack than it deserves.

I've given it a lot of flack over the last few months. It took me months to dial in some tone that I liked for more than a couple of days. It has finally happened. That has finally happened. I'm excited to gig with it now.

Peter, I always open your threads because I know the playing will be a treat regardless of what you are playing through! And, this sounds great all around as usual.

Yeah. It took me a while to finally get the kind of sounds out of it that I am pleased with. But once you get it dialed in with all the deep editing parameters, it does sound pretty good.

Really great tones! Its nice to hear something more laid back like this with the HD500. There's so many high gain, drop tuned, metal tone demos or overblown with effects. Its great to hear just natural amp tones out of it. I'd never know that was recorded with a digital modeler if you hadn't said so. Excellent work!

I think this proves the point that its is as much about the talent of the player as it is about the gear being used.

If this was posted as a Kemper/AXEFX clip people would be gushing about how "real" it sounds.

    Simply excellent, great job

LOL, the only 'real' I care about is sounding 'real' GREAT as this does in spades. Player ALWAYS has so much to do with the sound as well.

Great playing! And great tones. I just picked up an HD500x and I'm really digging the sounds I'm getting.

I see you have some patches on your website... but from the description I don't think those are the ones you used, unless I'm mistaken. Any chance you could post a link to the patches you used in that track? They are absolutely gorgeous.

Thanks so much for all the comments guys. It's much appreciated.

@banjose, thanks for the heads up too.

I will be updating my website in the near future with the new patches. I'm trying to get part 2 of my video series on the HD500 finished as well.
    Thanks for listening.
    Cheers.

Excellent playing and great tones!! This is one of the best sounding clips I have heard from any modeler (Axe & Kemper included). Great job!
