Haven't seen that yet. Excellent advice, especially #1.

I'm sticking that to my studio's bathroom mirror.

Those 10 commandments were the foundation, heart, and soul of the Allman Brothers Band from its very inception.

Posted in my saved bookmarks. Great Advice, that I happen to practice myself, and have mostly shared with fellow musicians, although I've never summarized it as succintly as DT did here.

There is some real meaning in those rules…simple, yet hard to follow.

I know I've tried to live up to each and every one…and have also
consciously and blatantly disregarded each of them on occasion.

Not all at once, though…so there's that.

    It's good musical common sense.

Unfortunately the people who could really learn from that won't.

Because they think that it doesn't apply to them.

If most people applied #1 and LISTENED, many of the other points would fall into place.

I have always believed in and practiced #1 on that list: "just listen". If you do that, sincerely and with a generous and open mind, all the other things will follow.

    Guitar >cord > amp - that's all Derek needs.
