I saw Tedeschi Trucks Band last night in Central Park. Holy smokes, what an amazing show. Anyway, I noticed Derek had some new amps on stage with him, and his tone, as usual was superb, but a lot less blackface and more focused and punchy. Very sweet playing as usual, he just keeps getting better IMO.

They look boutique, so I figure someone at TGP can ID them for me. I didn't get close enough to see the name plate. Looked like he had one head sitting on one of his old supers. Also, digging around some old videos I noticed he used to play with two supers, along with what looks like a super head sitting on a super combo. Any idea why he would do that?

I've got front row tickets to see these guys this summer in Saratoga.
I've been telling everyone this is going to be the sleeper concert of the summer that's going to blow everyone away.
    Now I can't wait.

He's been playing Alessandro modded supers for a while now. My guess is some form of Alessandro.

I grew up in that neck of the woods and saw a lot of great acts at SPAC. The NYC show was free, and one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I've been following this group since they got together. I knew it would be awesome but I really wasn't prepared for how amazing it would be when you can feel the instruments and vocals in your chest. I'm still getting chills.

I'm so glad George Alessandro is getting some national recognition that he deserves... Incredible amps...
From his Facebook pages, it looks like Eric Johnson and Eric Clapton are using his amps as well.
I see also that they are priced for that crowd as well.. Yikes...

That breakdown happening at the 5 min mark was nice. A bit more keys and some delay, they'd be square in Pink Floyd territory. Dig it.

I'd say you're crazy, because I was just thinking how weird it is watching these two, one in open E and one upside down.

Sounds fantastic. Derek is one of those guys though that would sound brilliant through anything.

    I think it's standard.
That's probably why he's not playing the usual SG with the plate and no pickguard.

Pretty sure it's open E, the F-Am breakdown towards the end, he plays the F by barring at the first fret with his first finger.

    You're probably right.
Other than Open G, I don't know enough of how the other open tunings work.

I remember when I first heard about Alessandro amps he had a +$5k option for a 24k gold chassis, after that I was just "welp, there goes that"
