Is there anything that would plug into my amp speaker out and allow direct/silent recording? I'm assuming a speaker sim would be required as well.

For recording without speaker emulation, THD Hot Plate.

But best solution would include speaker emulation, and the best for that is the Palmer PDI-03. A bit expensive, but well worth it IMO.

Yep, a Palmer DI box is the ticket. However, I have gotten pretty decent results with an attenuator (Weber Mass) and the Behringer GI100 DI box, which is a fair bit less expensive than the Palmer DI box.

I made a silent cabinet with a Weber motor ($45). I'm using anyone of several DIs with speaker sim: H&K RedBox, Palmer PDI-09, Radial Engineering JDX, TAD Fanta, Behringer GI100, etc. Gives me more versatility. I can use more than one of those DI at once for tonal variety if I want. The silent Cab can also be used with my 2 x 12 providing 3db of attenuation.

Groove Tubes Speaker Emulator. I've used one for years, they show up on Ebay once in a while. I actually had mine in the Emporium a few months back, then decided to keep it. It handles the speaker load and has a nice speaker sim and onboard EQ.

I use a Palmer 04. I'm in the market for a second one.

Then you DEFINITELY need to try the 03 this time around.
