I don't see her site on the Zvex page any more.
read something about it on HC.she's now painting E13 pedals,i think.
wow your right! http://www.effector13.com/laurabennett/index.html
i wonder what happened with Zvex?
I thought there was some sort of falling out, but she's still on myspace and doing stuff for effector13, as mentioned. She does cool art, no doubt.
yeah, i really dig her art, i would love a painting but i'm afraid to ask for the prices haha
Actually she's not at all overpriced. Some of her giant pieces are pricey, but you can get some smaller, simpler ones for extremely reasonable prices. Less than half an Eternity, even.
haha but she doesn't seem to have an art site any more, just 2 myspace's.
Right, through which you could contact her. She has prices posted for some pieces on the /laurafbennett page. You could even, maybe, perhaps, and this is pure heresay on my part, commission something new and unique and really support her. Now that's a sweet idea. Maybe she could paint my roadcases.
Devi the owner of Effector 13 told us all on HCFX that Laura and Zach parted ways and now she was painting Effector 13 pedals. Devi even went on to say she asked Zack if it was ok and he was cool with it. Just to be clear Laura and Zack parting ways had nothing to do with Effector 13 that come later. I just didnt want that to get confused.
Laura's great. i have her art all over my walls... it's wonderful stuff. i wish her all the best!
Maybe a stupid question, does this mean ZVex isn't going to be selling hand painted pedals anymore?
no...theres still going to be handpainted pedals...just means myrolds working double time...Maybe this means we'll see a sudden spike in the prices of Benett painted pedals?!?!?...too bad I dont have one I really like her art too. It reminds me of the red hot chili peppers???
we're training in another painter, and Jason is keeping really busy.
I prefer Myrold anyways...I think his work suits the pedals more. Everytime I think about Laura B painting E13 stuff I just cringe. It is kinda like Picasso painting your 74 Pinto Fastback imo...it is still a Pinto no matter how you dress it and no amount of flashy paint is gonna change that.
As long as they sound good, I don't care how they look.
+1 to that
Ouch. How do you really feel?
Believe it or not I did edit it to make it less abrasive. Zvex pedals are known for the whacked graphics and outstanding quality. I just feel that E13 is trying to catch some of the mojo by using Laura; however the mojo of Zvex is far beyond the outer layer and there are but a few manufacturers that at his level.
'ol Zach has got his mojo woikn !!
