DIY Jr build underway

Reading rhinocasters Pro Jr thread got me to thinking about a simplified DIY build.

I am going with cathode bias instead of the fixed bias. And there are a couple of parts of the circuit that look like band-aids that I am going to omit (if I need them, I'll add them back).

I've started drilling the chassis, only a few more holes to go. (I'll take a pic tomorrow).

For iron, I am using a Hammond 270EX for the PT and a MCI DR replacement OT (works great with EL84's).

I'll be making the eyelet board as soon as I get a package from Hoffman. I drew up a workable layout drawing this afternoon.

It should be interesting. I'll update with some pics tomorrow.

Nothing more rewarding than building an amp. Can't wait for the blow by blow........

Here's the front of the chassis. I went ahead and added a hole for a standby switch and a cut or master volume.

The back side is drilled for the PT & OT:

I have a few more holes to drill on the bottom. I might keep the circuits diode rectification (I can't find my large hole punch):

I should be able to start assembly soon.

Great photos - this is the kind of build report I like to see. Built from scratch, in the most literal sense.

More, please.
