Do all Les Pauls have a Maple Top? (pic)

    I have a '95 Les Paul Standard in Wine finish... Does this guitar have a maple top?

    No. The original customs from the '50s were all mahogany. They've also made some newer models that were all mahogany as well. It's had to tell from your photo if the top is maple or mahogany.

    If i pull the pickup what do I look for? a lighter shade of wood glued to a darker shade?

    I had a '69 Gold Top Deluxe that was all mahogany body with a 3 piece maple neck (rosewood board of course)
