    I know most people 'round these parts love to use many textures and tones to their advantage, but it seems to me that most people also have a single "go-to" tone that they use the most. I was just wondering what each persons is.

    RULES:
    One guitar / no more than 2 pedals (must be on)/ Amp(s)
    If you use a channel-switching rig or multi-input amp, specify channel.
    This is like a desert-island-gig rig. Meaning, if you had to play a gig with only this setup, you could. Note that all peices are optional - you can use UP TO two pedals, but they must remain on, so, none is an option.

    Here's mine:

    Fender AMVri '62 Jazzmaster->
    Captain Coconut 2 Fuzz Foot->
    Bad Cat Black Cat 30r combo

    (BEER: Dos Equis Green Bottles)

    Ride that volume knob...

    Mesa Nomad 100, Orange channel, through 412 Celestion loaded cab
    JangleBox compressor and Fulltone Clyde wah (which I reserve the right to turn off when necessary so I don't have Kirk Hammet's tone, thank you)

    This isn't a game; this is torture!

    No FX
    Lead channel. I like the way it cleans up better than most amps' clean channels.

    All of these are in my current go-to rig (and my only rig):

    USACG homebrew strat w/ Lindy Fralin Unbucker bridge and Real 54's in the neck and middle.

    Clay Jones OD

    DLS EchoTAP

    Fuchs ODS-50 SLX 1x12 combo

    Between the amps flexibility, the pedals, the guitar's pickup selection, and the guitar's volume and tone controls I can pretty well cover anything but nu-metal.

    I'm very close to that rig.
    My Frankenstrat2 is loaded with Kinman woodstock plus into an EMG DG20 active harness for mid boost, mid cut, into a BJF compressor, Fuchs ODS SLX50 1x12 combo loaded with a Tonespotter, Digitech DD20 in the loop.
    One amp, two pedals, one guitar I can do anything I need.

    I reserve the right to shut off the wah.

    If it was only one pedal, I'd use the catalinbread super chile picoso

    I can get great tones with my Les Paul into either my Rivera M-60 or my 71' Marshall SL and can live with just my Hotcake. I like to use a Chandler Digital Echo with the Rivera.

    It's not the greatest or most flexible tone in the world, but I could survive with just my Les Paul and the lead channel on my Rivera. stick a boss DD-3 and a decent wah, and there you have it. I'm always looking for something better though.
