Tube amp for less than $350, at least 30 watts, with treble, middle, bass, gain, and volume controls?

    Crate Palomino V32
And I think Peavey puts out something similar as well.

Are there any less... metal-ly? The heaviest stuff I play is Nirvana, but I usually play Blur/indie stuff. Are these amps good for that kinda stuff?

The Crate V30 or Palimino 32 are not "metal-ly"

They can be very "rock-ky" or very "blues-sy" if you turn the gain knobs to the right position.

    I've even played "count-try" with my V30

The Peavey Valveking I've got isn't bad-- sort of halfway between a Vox and HRDX, tonally... I think... They run 400 new... but used? I've been thinking of selling for $325 or so. Just the teeniest bit of dirt if you crank it all the way to a 10.
    50 watts... 1x12.

    Does that match your specs?

I second( or third) the crate. You can get good deals on the v32, I recently picked up a NOS crate v30(same thing as palomino v32) for $199 at zzsounds!

Even though the B 52 is kind of directed at metal players, the tones are pretty versatile... I think they sound darned good... heard a guy in GC playing some Duane Eddy stuff through one with a Gretsch 5120, it was pretty cool

I know that american musical had them listed a while ago too, probably gone as well. Just keep your eye peeled they may come up again.

Peavey Classic 30. You can find 'em used for $3-350 and they sound awesome. Built like tanks, take pedals well, flexible eq for your purposes.

+1 on the Peavey Classic 30. I almost bought one before I got my ValveKing... I should have-- when I checked back on it-- it was gone. :(

They don't have to be 30 watts I guess, just loud enough for a show or louder than drums.

The $199 V30s are long gone at zzounds. They were blowing them out a few months back. I last saw the 15 watters being fire-saled for like $129 which is still a good EL-84 based amp.

    I've got a VC30 (VC3112) and it's a great amp for the $$ spent. $160 used.

All of these I have found used in good shape within your price range and I've made $ playing all of them.
