does it matter if patch cables and power cables touch each other on your pedalboard??

I read in some other thread that you should keep the power cables (voodoo labs pedalpower2) from touching or crossing over patch cables...is there any truth to this? Does this cause an electrical interferance that produces noise??

It seems that if you have high quality patch cables there will be shielding that will prevent these problems.

Crossing over is fine. Running them together in parallel can cause hum, especially with an unbuffered, high-z signal.

In pedalboards, crossing over and running parallel should be fine. Since the power running through those cables is filtered DC, there shouldn't be any problems with noise. AC would be a different story

My bass player is an electrical engineer with 25 years in audio, designing audio, studio and radio equipment, installing radio and recording studio's, etc. His take was that it shouldn't matter on the pedal board.
