I have heard that these two pedals are similar.

I am considering buying an old big box Gainster, but own the Red Snapper (4 knob) and dont want to duplicate.

    Opinions?

The handwire circuts of the RS, gainster, and hoochee mama look so very close to me:D

All 3 pedals are based off of the Boss OD-1. They are very very similar.

Is it possible to elaborate more on that?

Are they voiced different, different amounts of grit....stuff like that.

    Thanks!

    They sound totally different.
RS is open, clear, transparent, a touch bright.
Gainster is more tweedy and rude.

I've had the 3 knob RS, big box Gainster and small box Gainster. They sound nothing like the 2 od-1's I've had. I have a Thunder Tomate booteek od-1 clone and that sounds nothing like either the RS or Gainster.

The ONLY thing they have in common tone wise is they are all low to medium od's.
