If I were looking at buying that, I'd definitely want pictures of the case, as well as pictures of the electronics, and serial number.

Well, I did notice a wee bit of flaking on the decal in pic 2.
Best get a look at the electronics and neck heel.
It does look legit (other than the wrong case) but it never hurts to be sure.

Depending on the year, the decal's on the EC strats did have a tendency to flake. I've seen it on several. Make sure you are getting the original pickups (again, it's not uncommon to see pup swaps on these guitars) and ask the ower if the bridge is blocked. If not ask him about the wood block that comes with all EC strats. You might want it.

picked it up yesterday - seems legit (i am no expert on these matters though).

haven't taken the pickguard of yet though.

the serial number on the back matches the hang tags but the hand tag does not refer to it specifically as a eric clapton strat. the back plate is also correctly blocked with wood and there is a battery there.

it also has the mid boost which is brilliant. the only slight issue is the tbx control. the indent is there but very imperceptible (on my strat plus you can feel the notch when you turn the tone knob). on this EC model though notch is hardly felt.
