So I'm laying in bed (see thread on antibiotics for reason) and looking out the window for the past few days, and something dawned on me. Why is it that dogs can't poop in their own yard? Why does every dog owner in my neighborhood bring their dog to my yard to poop? I've seen a parade of dogs pooping in my yard when they should be pooping in their own yard.

They bring their dog to your yard so their yard isn't full of poop.

If they don't pick up, your neighbors basically suck.

My dog refuses to poop in anyone's yard but his own.
In fact, he will stand 6 inches inside our property line.

I have even seen him run from the yard next door to our yard just to poop on many occasions day & night.

My dog just stands there and stares at me if I keep her on my yard. So we start walking, and within 3 or 4 houses, she poops. whatever. Yes, I always pick up. I try to spread the love to different houses... or try to make it all the way to the park most of the time.,

I assume so the owner can combine the pooping part with the walking part. In fact, I'd guess that most owners are really concerned about giving them the walk, the poop part just happens because, well, poop just happens. The considerate owners are armed for it with poop picking up gear.

My dog usually goes in our yard. If he goes in another yard, he goes as close to the curb as possible, and I always pick it up.

There should only be a problem if the owner doesn't pick it up.

As much as I like dogs I will not put myself in a situation where I am having to scoop their poop as a part of some daily routine.

Now we know who walks their dog and who doesn't.

Yup - I wouldn't leave my dog's crap in my own yard, and certainly wouldn't leave it in someone else's...

What would happen if I leave my poop in the yard, kind of like marking my territory. Would it keep them away?

Somebody lets their dog poop in my front yard, and doesn't pick it up. My son's Nike shoe sole is full of the evidence.

Happens in my yard too. Makes me quite angry. Some people are worse than dogs.
