I posted this elsewhere but I thought you guys might like to hear this. Same guitar (Mexi 50's Tele - Ash), amp & settings (Grestch/Valco 6159 - 2x12, 35w, 6L6s), and "mic" placement (iPhone).

Don't let the bite of the Zep fool you. No icepick. Just piano like cleans. The Black Krowe's got a nice "Won't get Fooled Again" vibe. Enjoy!

the zepotone was mine and it sounded early 50s to me. Weird how the low output readings are misleading though. This thing was not laid back at all.

Thanks for posting the demo's! I've just got an El Black Krowe in my tele, and was considering the Zepotone when making the order. Both very good, and an appreciable difference between the two as well.

Thanks guys. Keep in mind that the amp I'm using (and old Valco made Grestch) is pretty dark (though not with the Zep-o-tone). I tried it today through my tweed Bassman and it was great how it cut the low end that flubbed it out but didn't make it shrill (normal channel).

BTW. Here's a clip through the Grestch (with slightly more gain) and then a D*A*M 1966 fuzz. Sorry for the sloppy playing (Jimmy Page, I aint!).
