I have been around the block over the past year with different dirt pedals. And I think I own everything I need with regards to OD/Distortion.

    The Keepers are :

    White Eternity
Cot 50 red , Tchula and Cot 50 China
    Lovepedal 8823
    Lovepedal 200lbs
    Zendrive
    Klon
    Gasbender (Mk2 clone)
    BYOC MK2
    Monsterpiece MK2 and NPN

I don't use these all together of course.

    I have 2 boards.

The Funk Board = PTjr loaded w. Clyde Delux wah> '74Script Phase 90 reissue> COT 50 > Pitchblack > Keeley Comp > E or Zen > Flying Dragon Boost > Dr. Scientist Tremolescence > AM analog delay (600ms) > Deluxe reverb or Allen Old Flame + 2x12 open back.

The Rock Board = PT Pro loaded w. Pedalworx Wah > Cot 50 > Maxon PH350> Keeley Comp > Monsterpiece Fuzz > Klon > EH Wiggler > Dr Scientist Tremoloscence > EB Volume Pedal (w tuner out to strobostomp)> Line 6 DL4 > AM analog delay 300ms > Bogner Shiva

The excess Dirt that is not used on my boards that are keepers are usable to me in other ways or as substitutes for flavor. I'm really happy with it all. I guess Im kind of a lovepedal slut, but in the end they beat out most of everything else I tried.

I'll try to post pics in a few.

If I had a nickel for every time I said I was done with dirt...

Good pedals and good luck. You'll be back and getting your hands dirty in no time. It's a disease. I have it too.

Nice rigs. I like how you have tailored each for the particular genre. I have been on a three year + tonequest like many others here and TGP has been an invaluable source of information and real life experience with a veritable myriad of effects choices and possiblities. One of the most important things I learned was that effects and Overdrive/Distortion/Fuzz boxes especially are extremely rig dependent so what works for one guitar/amp setup might not work so good with another.
Looks like you have reached a point where you are satisfied with what you have (I reached this point about 6 months ago) now you can really explore the subtle nuances of all those outstanding pedals and focus on your playing and fine tuning your tone. Enjoy!!!:BEER

Cot50 red = Raw and bright. Perfect with the shiva .
Cotchina = warmer and sweeter but similar ..tends to work better with my fender type amps that are inherintly bright.

tchula is like the cot 50red on 11 (a little fatter sounding though) with a second channel that starts where the 1st one leaves off and gets much more saturated than either of the other Cots... Its a great pedal to bring to a jam when you only wanna bring one thing.

    thanks for the info, ben.

i have a cot50 red and i'm on the list for the les lius. i'm tempted to pick up a tchula because of it's size, although i'm a bit concerned about redundance. what do you think?

    I don't understand the question.

As for the redundancy between all the COT's/ Tchula, I find use for all of them . They are like different shades of the same thing. Kind of like 2 strats or 2 les pauls. They are the same but different enough. A primary factor is having 2 boards (w/ their respective amps) set up at all times. This is due to physical locations of bands/gigs/travel etc... + you gotsta have a few pedals that dial in YOUR sound layin around for that jam session or sit-in op that comes up.

Besides I got it down and I feel these are all more valuable to me then the butload of gear that I have sitting in a drawer that isnt being used. Like my Whammy pedal or my Q-tron that I keep swearing I will use some day for some whacky project..... y'all feel me?

can't help thinking about Cheech's words of wisdom "It's the same... only different."
sorry... I'll shut up now. :)
