Marc and Don did a fantastic job on this one-off Screwdriver Deluxe. I thought I'd share the pictures. Don painted in silhouettes of screwdrivers running diagonal across the front of the pedal. It'll be a fun one to play through, no doubt. Fortified with mojo.
Cool. Between the 2 guys involved in making your new box, it should be filled with good vibes (not to mention amazing tone). My favorite dirt box ever, bar none. Though my Screw Driver Deluxe doesn't have Don's paint job. Enjoy! michael
I've never met a Skreddy I didn't like (though I was lukewarm on the Top Fuel). The Zero has been used quite a bit to fill out that no-holds-barred distortion need on my board. It has more sizzle than the Mayo and, not surprisingly, does Mellon Collie-era Pumpkins pretty much dead on.
I wish he would put the five knobs on the regular sized Screwdriver. That enclosure is just to big and bulky to just be an overdrive.
That is way too cool! Although I agree with nibus, the only thing stopping me getting an SD-Dlx is the size...
Wow, the box is GIGANTIC. It seems like for the amount of circuit in there that the flatter Hammond box would work just fine. I love the sound and the look, but the box is a definite space hog. I'm definitely enjoying (again) the sound of the Screwdriver. SUCH a versatile pedal.
The box doesn't seem that big to me. Maybe because I have an Echo and a Swamp Thang which use the same size. Marc wrote once why it was necessary to use this size box but I can't remember. Having had a SD on my board for over a year and now having the Deluxe, the size doesn't bother me. The flexibility and options on the Dlx open up a huge range of things that this pedal can do. I don't mind giving up some space for that!
