Don't you think the space astronauts would have had more fun with a manual shift spaceship???

    .... rather than an automatic?

I mean face it, if NASA can put someone on the moon, they might as well make it memorable for the Astronauts and give them a Hurst shifted 67 speed or something. Sure, they would have to power shift it off the launch pad and hope they don't miss a gear or anything :dunno but with 32 million horsepower under your foot, it's all about man and machine and why not give them the ultimate performance options for a once in a lifetime event? :waiting

Apollo 13 was an automatic and look what happened to it! :rolleyes2:

Thank you, that will be all :red

Maybe, but it might interfere with the cruise control on the shuttle. Remember Apollo 13? When they had that accident because the commander of the moon capsule left it on cruise control "just for a minute!" to go back and make himself a sandwich?

When a mistake of one millisecond can mean instant death, I vote for automatic.

Apollo 13 was not because of the computer.

The first astronauts rode on one speed rockets. Then they graduated to stages. Some were "manual" separation, but now everything is too complicated. But they did have backup systems to allow manual. So it is like the PDK in the new Porsches.

I just wish they'd let me drive it. I'd grease that pig on like a bird with sore feet.

Having a clutch doesn't really matter as long you can select ludicrous speed.

Are you ƒµç(n) with me? You know that Go for Throttle Up was the last command sent to Challenger, don't you? bThere is throttle, but gears?

I assume the punch at Kwackkleberrry's Christmas Party was brought in by Willie Nelson this year, because you are positively glowing today!

Geezus, man, do some homework. The incident occurred after they Manually Stirred the liquid Oxygen tanks! Again, you must be ƒµç(n) with me.

    I provoke...

Considering that the most "recent" US manned spacecraft (the Space Shuttle) was designed using 1960's and 1970's technology, I would say that our astronauts did have manual shift spacecrafts. :)

Borla exhaust on the next space ship for that special growl note.

Hard to imagine that a trip to the moon would need something to make it memorable.
