I just got my baby back from a refret. I had been putting it off for years. I'm an idiot. It plays 100 times better.... and it played amazing before the refret.

This guitar was built in 1977 by a luthier here in Florida. It just so happens I ended up with it and the man who built it is still taking care of it for me. The refret is perfect.

That's flamed Eucalyptus not maple on the top and back. Maybe the only Koala caster in the world!

All vintage parts, the pickups are from 1959 (Strat p'up) is a '77. The bridge pickup needs a re-wind so I have a custom shop Fender in there now.

Those knobs are from a 1949 Fender Lap Steel.

Its a custom Franken Tele and I wouldn't trade her for nuthin.

Please post your double bound teles, or tele inspired axes, I would love to see what's out there.

Does yours have a 7.25 radius?

Yes, 7.25, it's a limited edition built to the original 1960 specs. I thought that the radius might be a problem because I bend constantly, but there's no problem. The pups are low power, and super sweet.

Great pic of a real beauty. There's just something about a double bound black tele that makes me gas for one. someday.. .yes someday...

To be honest, I didn't think that anyone on the Gear Page owned a 6-saddle Tele. Its a nice looking piece!

Here's a double bound that's slightly different. It's a pine body in natural clear nitro with double cream binding.

    There's only one thing missing......Don Mare's pups!!!

This is my modded to death MIJ Tele from the late '80s. I'm pretty sure this body is basswood. That's a used Allparts V neck from Rich Rice, that he reshaped the V making it milder, and Chris installed a bone nut on. One of my favorite Tele necks.

This is something in the works. I haven't re-routed for the neck PU yet. The body's a Warmoth Swamp Ash body, around 4Lbs. I'm putting an old DiMarzio Super-2 in the neck position, and a Duncan Custom Shop "Pearly Gates Esquire" stack in the bridge position. Callaham knobs. This'll be my first Fat Tele build.
