I do allot of composing in open tunings and I am researching double neck guitars one neck for open tunings the other for standard tuning does anyone have a recommendation other than a Gibson Es-1275 any other brands that are set neck that are very well made but don't weight too much. Thanks for any ideas

Years ago I played an Ibanez double neck- kind of like the Yamaha SG body style. It appeared to be a well put together instrument, but it was heavier than I would ever consider. Then again, I'd imagine any double neck is heavier than I would consider.

Nice Ibanez. I've played a few of those, mostly the bolt-on version.

I'm working on a doubleneck tele for myself right now. Would be cool to do a setneck doubleneck.

Had a 1275 a few years ago. Makes a Les Paul (even a heavy one) feel light weight!

I had a Carvin doubleneck. Great guitar but heavy as hell! I could only play it for no more than 2 songs at a time. I finally dumped it on eBay.

You can usually find Carvin 2xnecks on eBay every now and then for less than a grand...

I'm actually really interested in picking up one of them cheapie Danelectro double necks off ebay. They shouldn't be too heavy either...

wow that AR-1200 brings back memories, had the same one back in the 90's. sounded great with nice necks, and had a shock value when you opened the case that made people get that "deer in the headlight" look and just stare with and open jaw. It would make a man of you though, HEAVY,HEAVY,HEAVY
