Now I will have one. Just ordered a 59 Sound Vexter that was on Reverb.com
The Catalinbread 5F6 is exactly that. I have the Formula 5 (5E3) and it's fantastic.
Definitely Joyo American Sound.
I had the Blonde, which it is a copy of, and I could get a great blackface tone out of it. More raw, driving tweed - not so much. But I probably will grab the American, they come up used all the time.
Menatone Dirty Blonde can get into the general territory with the "soul" knob cranked - gets pretty saturated.
The BearFoot Sparkling Yellow OD is Tweed/Blonde and the Dyna Red is the early Marshall (which came from the Tweed circuit~)
I just want a bassman ltd.
The pedal looks really cool, but the official ZVex video sounds like utter crap.
Are there any shootout videos? Can't seem to find any.
Me too, but like most people I have nowhere to crank it up anyways. In the meantime my BD-2 does a decent job with the gain beneath 12 o'clock. Looking forward to trying other stuff.
It’s a little weird that the ZVex Vexter 59 Sound has what is clearly a Marshall head as the graphic. I know it’s derived from the Box of Rock, but I still think it’s an odd artistic choice for a Fender Bassman style pedal.
I found it odd too. Maybe they'll offer a service where you can send in your BOR and they change it to a '59 Sound!
While the color choice is odd, to me it looks like the top control panel of a '59 Bassman.
That pedal did not work for
Me at all. I have owned real tweed baseman’s too. Maybe I was going something wrong...
+1 for Joyo American
And I’ve owned Deluxe and Bassman
What are people thinking of the Big Tweedy?
I know this was posted a year ago, but the actual ‘59 Sound pedal sounds like crap- not just the video. In fact, I thought mine was broken when I does played it. But no, that’s just how it sounds. It cut a lot of low end and had barely any gain at all.. which may or may not be accurate, but for the cost of admission I expected more.
If your pedal did that then it doesn't sound at all like the 59 Bassman Reissue I owned a few years ago.
