I liked the song and it seems like an interesting pairing; I'm curious to hear more.

But in some ways it seemed too much like the Black Keys type of sound for me. I'm not always crazy about a producer who comes in and stamps an artist with the producer's signature sound -- Jeff Lynne does that, Daniel Lanois does like and it bugs me in their cases too. I prefer a producer who pulls something distinctive out of the artist not so much one who stamps himself on the artist. But it's an interesting record and it's great singing from Mac. I'd like to hear the rest of the disk.

Song sounds incredible. Dr. John swings so hard. Just listen to his rhythm on those verses.

If it doesn't bother the artist, it shouldn't bother you. I think Dan brings a lot to this table.

Yeah, I can definitely hear the keys influence, but that ain't a bad thing in this case.

    Thanks for the link.

Reminds me of some of his stuff from the 60s.

Yeah, I think we're mixing the influences up here guys. Dr. John has probably influenced Dan A. a lot more than the other way around..

Dr. John is the O.G. swamp master.

I LOVE Dr. John and I like what I've heard of the Black Keys. I didn't like that track, though. I didn't like that groove and I didn't like the way it was played and/or mixed. To me, it wasn't funky. It didn't rock. The rhythm and/or the tempo seem unsteady. Still, I always look forward to new Dr. John. We'll see what the rest of the album is like.

Love the Doc a ton, but ? and the Mysterians want that Farfisa back. Send it to them please.

What is the logic behind that statement?

    I second this!

You want Farfisa...check out the band, Hacienda! ABe is a monster on the Farfisa. He also played the Farfisa in Dan Auerbach's backing band dubbed "The Fast Five"...which is a nod to the model of Farfisa that was used :). Dan has produced all of the Hacienda albums so far...and they all sound like what Hacienda embodies, to me.

Love ? and the Mysterians by the by...and Dr. John too

I love Dr. John, but had a similar reaction to the tempo and not just where they intentionally change it.
