This arrived today. I've had about an hour or so with it, and so far I'm really liking what I'm hearing. Lots of range on the Mix control, which really makes it possible to dial in a subtle verb. The Rotary setting is damn cool, too.

    Single output on mine.

And the rotary setting is there because it's fun.

That's the only reverb I have GAS for. I've had a few reverbs before...RV-3, Verbzilla, but didn't care for them. In the clips this one sounds very good. Would you say it sounds like either of the above mentioned reverbs in person though?

Ah, sorry. Not sure about that. Don't think it was too long ago, though. I actually contacted Ryan at Dr. Scientist to see who had the new ones in stock and he was really helpful.

I owned the Verbzilla a while ago, but I only used it on the spring setting and that's the one setting the Dr. Scientist doesn't have so I can't help there. And I've never had the RV-3.

The rotary setting is awesome...I don't know how close it comes to real rotary (never heard the actual thing), but it's a truly unique sound.

You just reminded me I have one on order, it should be in by mid/end of march. I had trouble choosing between this gold one and the lighter washingtonian..I went with the washingtonian (I've never seen anything like it). Ryan provides some of the most eye catching pedal graphics. Really great communication too.

Plus I got to design my own frazz dazzler which will be ready at the same time. Soooo excited.

I'm getting a little burned out with my Holy Grail. Has anyone else acquired one of these since the previous post? What do you think?

Still using mine daily and loving it.

I also have a Holy Grail+, which is great for spring reverb (something the Dr. Scientist doesn't have). Not nearly as noisy as the regular HG, works fine on any power supply (I use a 1 spot for it), and is true bypass.

If you don't need spring though---and I've found I really don't---the Dr. Scientist is a wonderful choice.

I completely agree with you BAN... awesome sounding reverb! I do not miss the spring sound at all. I was so happy with their Tremolessence that I sent a mock-up to Ryan to make a Reverberator that matched my tastes a bit more. Used a new font, abbreviated the settings names, and changed the trails indicators; and it's amazing how much this looks like the mock-up I sent. They're vitrually identical - kudos to Tanya! I also agree that the rotary effect is really a nice surprise "add-on" that sounds great.

I'm guessing the rotary setting is on there because I think the RRR is basically an alesis nanoverb in a stompbox, and that had a random rotary setting on it. And thats a good thing because alesis units do excellent reverb sounds.
