If TGP liked Drake, then the people who actually do buy it would recoil in horror. They'd disavow any interest in Drake. I'd suggest, it is essential to the popularity of Drake, that non fans not like it. Sure, this type of thing is associated with Elvis and the Beatles and Stones, but it has advanced to a pretty serious extreme with this type of artist.

While I do ascribe to the notion "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone", I am not sure whether we should hold the same standard for declaring higher aspirations. If the indictment of hypocrisy is to restrain us, we shall forever be mired in the status quo.

The Stones? I wouldn't associate this type of Billboard chart success with the Stones.

And “this type of artist” is nothing new. Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Madonna, Janet Jackson and especially Mariah Carey dominated the singles charts pre download/streaming.

    1. Wife beating.....not sure about that one....if true it was when he was a young man and I'm pretty sure he disavowed much of his early life when his relationship with Yoko enlightened him.
    2. Ineffectual Protest Bed-Ins in Swanky Hotels.....would have been better in your mind if held in Motel 6? Ineffectual? It was reported everywhere in the media for weeks........
    3. Millionaires singing about not having possessions.....that's a tough one.....should someone not sing a (great) song if they don't 100% fulfill every tenant of that song? Should B.B. King NOT have sung "Help the Poor?".....he wasn't poor!
    4. Virtue Signaling....I don't know what that is....
BTW John Lennon got killed 38 years ago.....let it go....

I’m glad I’m not the only one who instantly thinks of a cartoon goose wearing a bakers hat when he is mentioned. All the time every time.

It isn't something I've ever held onto. Someone asked, I thought about it for a few seconds and let my fingers type.

Haters. He had a billion streams for the album in the first week. He has been on the charts for like 10 years now. Put some respect on his name.

What’s to get? Bland generic rap pop, there’s not much to get.

There has been evolution and devolution of music. Beatles music? More complicated, more intellectually, especially musically and for the times. I can go one, but as for logic and realism, Drake will NEVER enter the same building the Beatles created. Some of you younger folks with your heros do not realise. Your heros heros, were the Beatles. What does Drake have that they didn't? THE INTERNET and fans looking and loving the simplistic more than the complicated thought provoking music of the Beatles. It is a system of sheep that I see for the most popular acts. They go to a Drake show and talk and play on there phone and the girls dream of his body. It is what it is and everything has changed and is different. It isn't old men, cloud yelling or anything like that. Young folks just seem to gravitate to what is easy and it must be the computer age that has brought this mindset. Free music and corporations. We are all kind of screwed over this matter, cept the young don't realise or care. And current events certainly make them wonder and want to blame anyone over 40 for, EVERYTHING. And I am not taking away from Drake, he is a performer and artist. Can't say that for some of the in your face rappers,(the most most popular).

Yeah, for sure....back in The Beatles' day fans just screamrf their lungs out so loud that they couldn't hear the music while dreaming of Paul's body.....

I know 5 songs is a lot but I’m surprised it wasn’t passed before with Michael Jackson or someone like that.
