I've had my DRRI for a couple of months now and just got around to replacing all the tubes with JJ's and the tone is now much warmer and fuller. The harsh brittle edge is gone. I do have a question about speakers. The Jensen RI C12K is a very nice speaker especially since it's just getting broken in. I have a Jensen RI P12N that I bought for a different amp but I ended up liking my Greenback in there better - so I have this new P12N sitting in it's box. Even though I do think the C12K is a very nice speaker, I still find myself looking for earlier breakup. When asked about the DRRI speaker choices most say stick with the C12K, many say the Weber 12F150. Anyone tried the P12N? Any suggestions from the New Eminence Red Coat/Patriot series?

I like the older Eminence Legend 125 in a DR.

Ed - I do like V30's - what to do about the 8 studs out of the baffle on the DRRI and 4 holes in the V30?

Not Ed, but perhaps - if that's the case - look into the Eminence clone of the V30 (Govenor?) as they have 8...

it's a bitch...3 possibilties, cut them with a dremel, clip them with heavy duty pliers, or remove them from the front...which means the grille has to come off.

    Uhem...no! :)
If I'd use a Eminence in a single 12 I actually would use the Red Fang.

Actually I did use a Red Fang in a BF non-reverb Deluxe - was GREAT!
As for the rest, I defer to your informed opinion.

I use a Governor in a single 12 and it's 1 of my favorite cabinets out of lots of them.. Not sure whether I'd choose it for a Deluxe Reverb or not. For my taste I'd probably use the Cannabis Rex in 1 . ERIC

I changed speakers last night - took out the C12K and put in the P12N and I'm not sure how I'm feeling yet! The P12N is chimmier, cuts better and overall seems better for rock. The C12K is warmer, fuller and is better for jazz....
I also have a Emi Red White and Blues - any opinions...

those studs in the front of your DRRI is a unique to Fender. they are left hand screws that go into the baffle. you can just remove the stud and have a small hole in the front. under the grill. shouldn't be an issue, or you could just stick some screwheads into the vacant hole. I wouldn't put in screws in them and foul the holes.

    oh yeah...

Save the screws, they are near impossible to find
