I purchased a little 60's MIJ 4 piece kit to keep around for jamming. I'll need a snare with stand, hi hats and a hi hat stand and a ride.

I am not a drummer. I've owned a lot of sets before but never on a budget so tight. Are there any cheap cheap ( like under $75 cheap) snare and stand combos that sound ... Ok for what they are? How about a ride?

But need ride, hi hats and snare all with stands.

Any suggestions on the ├╝ber cheap?

Find a Ludwig Acro for the snare. Nothing special about these except they sound great. Can't go wrong with Zildjian As for cymbals. Craigslist and some selfish negotiating will go a long way.

Look on Craigslist or any big box music store like guitar center.
Believe it or not they usually have a bunch of used drums cheap.

Thanks for the used angle. I'm looking for new. Used is great if you can find what your looking for. I see cheap $50 snare and stand on eBay. I just want to know if any of it is ok. Has anyone bought some of it and found it was usable?

Is there a brand or auction site that are a go to on the cheap that drummers in the know ... know about?
